About us

Hello and welcome to Restore! We are a husband wife duo, who practice Chiropractic and Acupuncture, based out of Grinnell, Iowa. It has been a dream of ours to create a clinic that helps you facilate your health goals and healing. Prior to the creation of Restore Chiropractic & Acupuncture, we met and graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Then proceeded on to attend Northwestern Health Science University in Bloomington, Minnesota - where Darius went on to obtain his Doctorate of Chiropractic and Sydney went on to obtain her Masters of Acupuncture. We decided to move back to Sydney’s hometown - Grinnell, Iowa - in 2022, and are thrilled to serve the town of Grinnell, Montezuma, and surrounding communities.

We have been married for 4 years. We enjoy traveling, walks together, going to Hawkeye games (Go Hawks), hanging out with family & friends, and cooking home cooked meals.

Our Approach

Restore Chiropractic & Acupuncture provides an atmosphere that recognizes and nurtures each person's needs, individuality and journey to optimal wellness. We will provide different resources, modalities and options such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, nutrition, and exercise to assist our patients along their health journey. Each person that walks through our doors will feel seen, loved and cared for in the highest quality possible.

FAQs

  • A detailed consultation in regards to what’s bringing you in, current and past medical history, and goals you have for care — this allows us to get to the bottom of what’s going on. Shortly after, you will go through a whole-body assessment — this allows us to seek “possible” root-causes to your health issues. Then you will receive your first treatment to move you in the right direction.

  • Upon completion of the initial visit, we will provide brief at home recommendations and go through the checkout process. Lastly, we will work on scheduling your next visit which is called the “Report of Findings”, where we review your initial visit assessment and objective findings, and formulate a care plan & recommendations that best suits your health needs.

  • At Restore, we do offer different self-pay options (e.g., cash, credit/debit card, HSA/FSA cards) which provides more flexibility and access to the special promotions, discounts, packages, and wellness memberships that we offer

    We understand the challenge of getting quality care at an affordable price. Health insurance has and continues to change year by year - leaving patients with higher deductibles, fewer covered services, and unclear cost of covered services leading to unexpected bills for you as a patient. We have created a pricing system that assists those who opt out of using their insurance benefits to receive the quality care they so desperately need at an affordable cost.

  • Restore Chiropractic & Acupuncture is an out-of-network provider for health insurance plans except Medicare. However, you may have out-of-network benefits through your insurance company; which we encourage you to use if you so choose. We do accept auto claims through the use of MedPay. All services must be paid for on the day of service. We accept cash, debit/credit cards, HSA/FSA, and personal checks.

    We can provide an itemized bill of services known as a Superbill - in which you will provide to your insurance company for reimbursement. Based on your insurance carrier policy and your plan, several factors determine how much you may be reimbursed - which we do not have the influence on the amount your insurance company may reimburse you for each visit.

    Please note that Superbills cannot be used for appointments that are part of special promotions or offers such as packages and practice memberships. A Superbill does not guarantee that you will be reimbursed the full amount; health insurance policies vary widely on their coverage of chiropractic and acupuncture

  • At Restore, we understand the importance of attaining a great quality of life. Our primary focus is to find the possible root-cause to your health issues and to ensure that you and your family are able to acheive optimal health & wellness through a whole-body approach utilizing chiropractic and acupuncture.

  • Method Of Payment

    Payment is due at the time of service. The amount due for services will be based on the Restore Chiropractic & Acupuncture fee schedule. See below for further information regarding insurance and self-pay. For your convenience we accept credit card, cash, personal checks, and HSA/FSA cards.

    Cancellation/No Show Fee

    We understand that cancellations can occur due to the unpredictable nature of life. However, we do have to enforce our updated cancellation policy.

    Effective January 8th, 2024, any appointment canceled less than 24 hours in advance of the appointment time, and no-show appointment, will be charged the full fee ($25) to the card on file. This policy applies to all appointments, for both new and established patients.

    You are able to make changes to your appointments online through our scheduling system up to 24 hours in advance, yay! And during clinic business hours by email. Any cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time must be made by email.

    At our clinic, we value your time as well as our time while we manage all things on our own as our clinic volume continues to increase. Unfortunately, when an appointment is canceled last-minute, it is often hard to fill that open slot. This results in a lost opportunity for another patient to receive the care they need, as well as lost income for our clinic.

    Your appointment time is reserved for you, and we work hard to prepare for your appointments and provide high-quality care.

    When you make an appointment with us, you are actively agreeing to our policy and acknowledging that if you cancel or no-show within 24 hours, you will be charged the full fee to the card on file. We ask that you prepare for your appointments by contacting us well in advance if you need to make adjustments to your bookings.

    Insurance

    Restore Chiropractic & Acupuncture is an out-of-network provider for health insurance plans except Medicare. However, you may have out-of-network benefits through your insurance company; which we strongly encourage you to call your insurance carrier to learn more. We do accept auto claims through the use of MedPay. All services must be paid for on the day of service. We accept cash, debit/credit cards, HSA/FSA, and personal checks.

    We can provide an itemized bill of services known as a Superbill - in which you will provide to your insurance company for reimbursement.     Self Pay (No Insurance)

    Full payment is due at the time of service unless under a promotion.

    We understand that this enforcement in our clinic regarding cancellation fee may feel disappointing, so we want to share a bit about why we are making this change.
